212 East 48th Street is a pre-war cooperative building located in the heart of Turtle Bay neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan. Steps from Grand Central, the United Nations, major subways and buses. It was built in 1924 and designed by John H. Duncan, the architect responsible for Grants Tomb and Hotel Wolcott. Duncans most famous work is the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch in Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, often referred to as Brooklyns version of the Arc de Triomphe. It has a beautiful marble lobby with arched French glass doors opening onto the buildings private garden. Most of the apartments in the building are spacious with pre-war detail and character. There are many apartments with fire places. The building has a 24 hour doorman, live-in super, central laundry room and private storage.
